Former councillor to face court over election irregularities claim

A former West Norfolk councillor is due in court next week over allegations of electoral irregularities.

David Pope, who has resigned as an independent councillor for the Upwell and Delph ward is due to appear before magistrates in King's Lynn on Thursday, November 14.

Police say he has been "summoned to court on suspicion of causing or permitting a false signature on an election nomination paper."

Mr Pope, an independent, was re-elected in May and had represented the area...
