Fuels for wood stoves and coal fires to be banned in environmental crackdown

The Government has unveiled plans to help decrease carbon emissions

Ministers have confirmed plans to phase out the sale of coal and 'wet' wood for domestic burning in England as part of a crackdown on pollution.

The Mirror Online reports that under the proposals, sales of "house coal" and wet wood - logs that are freshly-chopped and not dried and treated - will be phased out over two years starting from 2021.
