Older teen assaulted boy as he 'chilled' with mates

A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was assaulted as he "chilled" with his friends on a Clitheroe playground.

Blackburn magistrates heard there was history between the boy and his 19-year-old assailant but there had been no provocation prior to the assault.

Bradley Brookes, 19, of The Sidings, Castle View, Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to assaulting the boy.

He was ordered to complete 24 hours at an attendance centre and pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.
