Rwandan genocide suspect brands case against him ‘lies’

RWANDAN genocide suspect Felicien Kabuga has denied the charges against him, telling a French court on Wednesday that the United Nations prosecutors’ case was lies.

Mr Kabuga was arrested in Paris earlier this month after more than two decades on the run. UN prosecutors have charged him with genocide and incitement to commit genocide.

He is accused of bankrolling and arming the ethnic Hutu militias which killed 800,000 Tutsis and Hutus over a 100-day period in 1994.
