Britons should brace themselves as Europe’s big freeze is set to hit the UK next week.
Temperatures could plunge to as low as -14C overnight with widespread snow and bitter winds forecast during the next month.
This Saturday and Sunday will see relatively mild temperatures of 8C or 9C, with light snow showers on higher ground in Scotland and England.
Temperatures will feel mild, although it will be a little cloudy across much of the country.
