‘Utterly insane!’ Leo Varadkar on brink as Irish election wipeout looms

LEO VARADKAR has admitted he is willing to work with a minority Fianna Fail government as the latest opinion polls show Irish voters' confidence in him has plummeted.

Ireland’s Prime Minister, or Taoiseach, clashed with opposition leader Micheal Martin on several key issues in Wednesday night’s head-to-head debate ahead of the February 8 general election. But he vowed to work with Mr Martin, or any other party except for Sinn Fein, if Fine Gael failed to secure enough votes. His admission comes as recent surveys predict his group is set to lose ground, with a ballot taken last week showing his approval rating has slumped by 16...
