When is Thanksgiving? What is it and how is it celebrated?

THANKSGIVING Day is an American tradition and national holiday, and although many Brits are vaguely familiar with it, they do not have a clue why it is celebrated.

Although a bit of a mystery, Brits are exposed to the holiday by watching American TV series, and actually have it to thank for the shopping phenomenon of Black Friday.

When is Thanksgiving 2017?

In the US, Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November.

This year it will fall on November 23.

More interesting for Brits, it is always followed by Black Friday, which means a crazy day of bargain bagging.

Black Friday also unofficially marks the start...
