Woman, 86, murdered in her own home after ‘cowardly assault’

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 11.30am, however the victim was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival. (Picture: Essex Live/ BPM Media)A murder investigation has been launched after an elderly woman was found beaten to death in her home in Essex.

The 86-year-old’s body was discovered at the house where she lived alone in Ashmour Gardens, Romford, yesterday morning, by a handyman.
