BBC under attack: News reporting over crisis is 'ignorant' says ex-TV exec

A TOP television executive has hit out at the broadcast media's coverage of the coronavirus crisis arguing that it has been "unable to adapt", used the "wrong" language and failed the public by treating it as "a normal political ding dong".

The castigating remarks have come from ITV’s former head of news and current affairs, Steve Anderson, in an interview with former cabinet minister Esther McVey’s Blue Collar Conversation podcast.

Mr Anderson, who is now independent, has had a glittering career in television including as executive producer of BBC Question Time,  and, at different times, editor of the 6 o clock news, Watchdog, Panorama and Newsnight.
