Coronavirus infections hit peak before lockdown, Bristol-led study claims

The results suggest social distancing measures before lockdown could have 'done the trick'

Coronavirus deaths peaked "days before lockdown started" which could suggest that lockdown rules were not the reason for a drop in cases.

A new study from the University of Bristol found that the majority of people who died during the peak of the UK's crisis would have been infected around four days before lockdown measures were introduced.
