Man beaten to death after 'scurrilous rumour' wrongly accused him of being a paedophile

A 'vulnerable' man wrongly accused of being a paedophile was savagely beaten to death in his own home.

Thug Edward Fitzgerald, 50, burst into Raymond Dixon's house and reportedly kicked and punched him after being told he was a child sex beast.

Lee Hopkinson planned to rob the 'frail' 50-year-old so recruited Fitzgerald, who was out on licence, and Anthony Dennison to help.
