Romantic grandad arranges surprise dinner to celebrate diamond wedding

ROMANTIC John Hutton wanted to do something special for his wife Allison to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

ROMANTIC John Hutton wanted to do something special for his wife Allison to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.

Despite now living in Winsford Grange Care Home, he secretly planned a surprise meal, with help from Ester Lloyd, the home's activity co-ordinator.

Allison, who visits John every day, said she was over the moon to be wooed with a romantic meal.

The couple got married on October 31, 1959 in Largs, a town on the Firth of Clyde in North Ayrshire,...
