Disability claimants payments to go up from April after benefit freeze comes to an end

The rise will also affect those on DLA, incapacity benefit and Severe Disablement Allowance

People claiming disability benefits such as PIP will see their payments rise from April.

The move will see the end of the benefits freeze, which has seen benefits stagnate, not rising in line with inflation, reports Birmingham Live.

Personal Independence Payment, known as PIP, is intended to help with the extra costs of living with a disability or long-term health problem.
